MerahPutih.com - Penyanyi sekaligus penulis lagu Nicole Robertson kembali menghadirkan karya terbaru melalui single Narcissist.
Mengusung warna alternative R&B, lagu ini mengangkat situasi yang mungkin tidak asing bagi banyak orang: menyadari bahwa hubungan yang dijalani sudah tidak sehat, tetapi tetap kesulitan untuk meninggalkannya.
Ada kalanya seseorang sebenarnya sudah mengetahui bahwa sesuatu dalam hubungan tersebut tidak berjalan sebagaimana mestinya. Namun, entah karena alasan apa, keputusan untuk bertahan justru tetap diambil.
Ditulis dari Pengalaman Personal
Narcissist pertama kali ditulis Nicole pada 2023, ketika ia masih berada dalam sebuah hubungan yang kemudian menjadi sumber inspirasi lagu tersebut.
Perjalanan karya ini berlanjut dua tahun kemudian. Pada 2025, Nicole kembali mengembangkan ide Narcissist hingga menjadi sebuah demo.
Proses tersebut membuat lagu ini tidak sekadar berbicara tentang hubungan yang bermasalah, tetapi juga menjadi refleksi dari pengalaman yang pernah dilalui Nicole.

Sebelum dikembangkan menjadi demo, Nicole sempat membagikan potongan bagian chorus Narcissist melalui Instagram Story.
Ide tersebut bermula dari sebuah momen sederhana ketika Nicole merasa bingung menentukan lagu apa yang ingin dinyanyikan.
Alih-alih memilih lagu yang sudah ada, ia akhirnya memutuskan untuk menciptakan lagunya sendiri.
