Daftar Lengkap Nominasi Oscar 2021, 'Mank' Mendominasi

FILM Mank masuk dalam 10 nominasi Oscar 2021. Dari 10 nominasi tersebut, termasuk pula kategori untuk film terbaik. Bintang utamanya, Gary Oldman dan Amanda Seyfried, serta sutradara David Fincher juga masuk daftar nominasi. Film diproduksi dan dirilis oleh Netflix ini merupakan drama hitam putih di balik layar tentang pembuatan film Citizen Kane (1941).
Pasangan suami istri Nick Jonas dan Priyanka Chopra Jonas mengumumkan nominasi langsung dari London pada Senin (15/3). Pengumuman tersebut dilakukan melalui streaming langsung secara global di Oscars.com, Oscars.org, dan platform digital Akademi-Facebook, Twitter, serta YouTube.

Dari total nominasi yang diumumkan, Netflix yang merilis Mank memimpin dengan 93 nominasi Academy Awards Sementara. Perusahaan yang membentuk kembali bisnis film selama pandemi ini kemungkinan akan berjaya pada malam penganugerahan piala Oscar yang berlangsung pada Minggu, 25 April, di ABC.
Netflix, yang secara agresif mulai mendominasi di banyak ajang penghargaan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, unggul dengan film Pieces of a Woman, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, The Trial of the Chicago 7, dan Crip Camp.
Film yang disebut terakhir merupakan film dokumenter tentang hak-hak disabilitas yang didukung oleh Higher Ground, sebuah perusahaan produksi didirikan oleh mantan Presiden Barack Obama dan mantan Ibu Negara Michelle Obama.
Setelah Mank di peringkat teratas, disusul oleh film-film yang mendapatkan enam nominasi, yaitu The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Minari, Nomadland, Sound of Metal, dan The Trial of the Chicago 7. Semua film tersebut dinominasikan untuk film terbaik bersama dengan Promising Young Woman, sebuah film balas dendam feminis yang mencetak lima nominasi.
Mengingat diskusi seputar keberagaman dan Oscar, perlu dicatat bahwa tiga pria kulit hitam, Leslie Odom Jr. untuk One Night in Miami dan Daniel Kaluuya dan Lakeith Stanfield untuk Judas and the Black Messiah. Semuanya dinominasikan di kategori aktor pendukung terbaik. (aru)
