Lagu ini diluncurkan bersamaan dengan video musik resmi yang merupakan hasil kolaborasi dengan game naval populer World of Warships, menghadirkan pengalaman audio-visual yang semakin imersif bagi para penggemar.
Yamato terinspirasi dari Japanese battleship Yamato, kapal perang legendaris Jepang yang dikenal sebagai salah satu simbol kekuatan terbesar dalam sejarah peperangan laut.
Secara tematik, Yamato dapat dianggap sebagai kelanjutan dari lagu Bismarck yang sebelumnya juga mengangkat kisah kapal perang ikonik.
Melalui lagu ini, Sabaton kembali mengangkat narasi sejarah militer dalam balutan musik metal yang epik dan penuh energi—ciri khas yang telah melekat kuat pada identitas mereka.
