MERAHPUTIH.COM — TAYLOR Swift membawa pulang penghargaan Video of the Year seiring keberhasilannya menjadi artis paling sukses dalam sejarah MTV Video Music Awards, Senin (28/9).
Penyanyi tersebut memasuki malam penganugerahan dengan raihan seimbang bersama Beyoncé yaitu 30 kemenangan, lalu berhasil meraih penghargaan tertinggi malam itu berkat visual untuk lagu The Fate of Ophelia, yang diambil dari albumnya di 2025, The Life of a Showgirl.
Swift juga menerima penghargaan perdana untuk Artist Director, setelah menulis dan menyutradarai sendiri video musik Ophelia yang megah dan teatralis tersebut. Ia mempersembahkan penghargaan barunya itu untuk sang ultimate showgirl.
“Saya pikir kita semua sangat beruntung sempat berbagi planet ini bersama Dolly Parton untuk beberapa waktu,” ujarnya.
Penyanyi berusia 36 tahun itu juga memamerkan video musik untuk lagu barunya Patient Zero—yang dibintangi aktor Colin Farrell dan Dakota Johnson—selama upacara di Los Angeles yang dipandu rapper Snoop Dogg.
Video dengan genre thriller gotik gelap tersebut merupakan video musik pertamanya sejak menikah dengan pemain NFL, Travis Kelce.
Lagu ini merupakan salah satu dari empat lagu baru di The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, yang dirilis minggu lalu.

Dalam upacara yang sebagian besar memberikan penghargaan kepada para artis perempuan, Madonna memasuki malam itu dengan nominasi terbanyak, yaitu 13 nominasi.
Queen of Pop memenangi kategori Artist of the Year, Best Dance, dan Best Collaboration bersama Sabrina Carpenter untuk lagu lantai dansa mereka Bring Your Love, yang merupakan lagu utama dari album Madonna di 2026, Confessions II. Timnya juga memenangi kategori Best Cinematography dan Choreography, keduanya untuk film Confessions II.
"Sebagian besar dari kalian mungkin belum lahir saat saya tampil di VMA yang pertama kali 43 tahun lalu," ujar artis berusia 68 tahun itu setelah memenangi Artist of the Year.
Ia melanjutkan dengan mengenang momen ketika ia terjatuh dan bagian belakang tubuhnya tersingkap, sebuah insiden yang sempat mengancam akan mengakhiri kariernya yang baru merintis kala itu.
“Saya menghabiskan satu setengah tahun terakhir untuk menemukan diri saya, percaya pada diri sendiri, dan benar-benar membuat musik yang ingin saya buat,” katanya.
Penampilan Madonna, pertunjukan VMA pertamanya sejak ciuman panggungnya yang terkenal bersama Britney Spears pada 2003, mencakup duet dengan Carpenter dan penampilan dari bintang Brat asal Inggris, Charli XCX, untuk membawakan lagu baru mereka Danceteria (Afterhours).
Saat menerima penghargaan Best Collab, Madonna menyebutkan bagaimana tim Carpenter membutuhkan waktu lima hari untuk merespons. "Ketika lima hari berlalu dan saya masih belum terhubung dengan Sabrina serta belum mendapat kabar dari dia tentang apakah dia ingin membuat lagu dengan saya. Lima hari. Saya mengiriminya DM,” kata bintang tersebut.
"Dia membalas saya dan dalam hitungan minggu kami sudah berada di studio bersama. Itu sangat luar biasa,” imbuhnya.
Carpenter, yang sedikit meringis membayangkan timnya telah membuat sang ikon pop menunggu, memberikan klarifikasi. "Tim saya merespons, kok. Hanya agar semua orang tahu, mereka memang membalas pesan orang-orang. Tapi saya membalas lebih cepat. Jadi kontak langsung ke saya selalu menjadi cara terbaik untuk menghubungi,” ujarnya.
Swift, Charli XCX, dan Lisa dari grup K-pop BLACKPINK termasuk di antara para selebritas yang berjalan di atas karpet biru menjelang acara tersebut. Lisa menjadi artis solo Asia pertama yang memenangi kategori Best Pop untuk lagunya, Dream, yang menampilkan aktor Jepang Kentaro Sakaguchi dalam video musiknya. Rapper-penyanyi asal Thailand tersebut mengungguli persaingan dari beberapa nama terbesar dalam musik pop, termasuk Swift, Ariana Grande, dan Olivia Rodrigo.
Lisa, yang nama aslinya Lalisa Manoba, tampak sangat terharu saat menerima penghargaannya.
Sementara itu, penyanyi Inggris RAYE dan Sienna Spiro, yang memenangi Best New Artist, juga tampil malam itu. Mereka membawakan penghormatan bagi mendiang Parton dan George Michael. Artis Inggris lainnya, PinkPantheress, memenangi Best Art Direction bersama Zara Larsson dari Swedia untuk lagu Stateside.
BTS meraih penghargaan Best Group dan Song of the Year untuk lagu Swim, sedangkan The Cure milik Olivia Rodrigo memenangi Best Alternative, dan Nirvana dianugerahi penghargaan Video Vanguard.
