Hip-Hop Kuasai Grammy 2018, Jay Z Raih Nominasi Terbanyak

NOMINASI Grammy 2018 telah diumumkan. Andra Day membacakan nominasi untuk empat kategori besar pada Selasa (28/11) secara live di stasiun TV CBS. Day membacakan nominasi untuk kategori musisi pendatang baru terbaik, record of the year, song of the year, dan album of the year.
Tak lama setelah penampilan Day itu, pihak Recording Academy resmi mengumumkan nominasi untuk 84 kategori dalam penghargaan bagi insan musik itu.
Dari daftar nominasi, Grammy 2018 tampaknya dikuasai musisi hip hop. Sebut saja Jay Z yang memborong delapan nominasi antara lain untuk kategori album of the year, record of the year, song of the year, dan best rap album.
Tak hanya Jay Z, musisi hip hop lain, Kendrick Lamar, juga berjaya. Ia ada di urutan kedua dengan tujuh nominasi. Bruno Mars ada di posisi berikutnya dengan enam nominasi.
Sementara itu, musisi hip hiop yang menjadi kolaborator Maroon 5 untuk single What Lovers Do, SZA, menjadi perempuan dengan nominasi terbanyak pada Grammy 2018. Ia dinominasikan untuk lima kategori.
Selain itu, Khalid, Childish Gambino, dan produser No I.D. juga mendapat lima nominasi.
Untuk Grammy tahun ini, masa yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan nominasi diperpanjang, yakni 1 Oktober 2016 hingga 30 September 2017.
Grammy Award 2018 akan digelar di Madison Square Garden di New York pada Minggu, 28 Januari 2018.
