Ricardo Kaka dan Diego Forlan dipercaya untuk melakukan pengundian. Diawal dari pot 1, dilanjutkan pot 2, lalu pot 3 dan terakhir pot 4.
Juara bertahan Real Madrid segrup dengan AS Roma, wakil Rusia CSKA Mokow dan Viktoria Plzen di Grup G. Sedangkan, Juventus harus bekerja keras karena akan menghadapi Manchester United, Valencia dan Young Boys di Grup H.
